“you live, you learn”

 “you live, you learn”

This expression, usually used to say that one has learned something from an experience that is surprising and usually unpleasant, should be more talked about.

Life is an ongoing cycle of ups and downs and these ups and downs are what allow us to learn and to live. It’s just like in a coming of age novel.

We learn from mistakes, for example, doing something that our parents told us not to do and having to pay the consequences back when we were younger. However you do not just make mistakes when you are younger, mistakes are made all throughout your life which means you are constantly learning and therefore living. Adele mentions this at numerous occasions in her songs. For instance in the 2011 hit “someone like you” where she talks about her getting over her ex- a big step in life that teaches you many things.

Betrayal is also I massive learning curve. That moment when you found out that your best friend has been lying to you for weeks on end killed, however, it made you stronger. Just like in moon palace when Marco found out that Solomon had been lying to him and that he was actually his father. He felt betrayed and lied to however it helped him grow and find his identity.

Even though sometimes learning is hard, we should all be thankful as everyday we learn something new which helps us grow and become better versions of ourselves.

You live, you learn

During your life, especially when you’re a teenager, you’ll learn many new things which are going to affect who you are and how you think. You will learn through experiences, wether they’re good or bad, and they will make you grow. It’s a good thing because it means we are all different in our own way, and some experience can even pull people together because they’ve been through the same things. But because what we live will build who we are, we sometimes found oursleves scared that bad experience will stay in our mind forever. But you need to know that you’re also not completely a representation of what you’ve been through. In this article i’ll tell you how are you learning thanks to your experience, even if they can be bad.

You live, you learn

 You live, you learn !

Goood mooorning world !

Again, today I am posting on my blog at the very last minute but don't worry my friends this is the last time I am doing it since I live, I learn from my mistakes. An ingeneous way to introduce my topic, doesn't it ? ;)

Indeed, it has been a few months that I am reading some books and articles about the growth of a child to his adulthood and the different obstacles that he may encounter during his life, how is he going to deal with it and face it. In Britain, it's called "the bildungsroman", all of this phase of childhood to adulthood. I have read Moon palace, what you can remember about it, is that he has radically change because of the experience and struggle he went through make him becoming more maturing, he is prepare to face the real world alone thanks to his experience. This is it, You live, You learn.

The Hâte U Give was my favorite one, to me, Starr illustrates perfectly the coming-of -age (bildungsroman), she really went from the little girl shy, innocent who doesn't speak up and just want to be invisible at the point that she wants to disappear to a young black woman who has no longer fear to use her voice and speak up to defend herself and her rights and assume entirely who she is.This is it. Again. You live, You learn.

Some of us will turn 18 this year, the next year we will certainly leave our city to go to the university that we want and it can be scary.  But bear in mind that the life is not perfect, she will challenge you and you will have to overcome it on your own but if you know what you want and you are well surrounded it will be fine and you will have fun.

See you next week my fellas🤠

You live, you learn

You live, you learn

Hello, I will start this blog like Orelsan did in his music Shonen (which is typically the japenese translation for coming of age story): “I've made mistakes and I'll make some again, I just hope they're not the same ones.” This sentence could easily summary all the growing up process. As kids, we did mistakes and we learnt from them. That’s how you growing, by learning from mistakes. You live, you learn. This mistakes have constructed us. You have to make mistakes, otherwise how do you move forward. I think the future is a big wall to climb and each error is a support for helping you to climb this wall that you have to cross. You just to do not repeat the same. Each mistake is also an experience often sad on disappointed, which makes the person you are today. As artist, I question myself about this, do you must have a painful or difficult past to have things to say, or, to be a good adult. Following what I said, those people with a difficult past and experiences, at least they have maybe climb this wall faster, but are they better adult than me. I think that it depends a lot of on the way of seeing things that happens to you. You see often main characters of movies, book that have a strong will, which they use to overcome terrible situations and then how this experience has built them. You live you learn. But life isn’t like films, also a thing that I learn by living my life, just by living it. So you don’t need to take your life like marvel heroes but of course it’s a very good inspire source to cope with your own issues. And of don’t be scared to live new things, even if they afraid you. That’s certainly the most fun part, believe me it will be useful. Remember you live, you learn that I can replace by the most you live the most learn.

 You live, you learn

You live, you learn. A pretty enigmatic sentence, totally opposed to the social vision of knowlenge, which ould have to be taught at school. But learning doesn’t mean to accumulate knowlenge, but to build up one throught experience. It is with this definition that we can assume that living in learning. Indeed, life is experiences, a ton of it. Let’s just assume you woke up, but are way too tired to get off you bed. This is an experience of course, but it as well is a way to learn that your body’s weakness can affect your mental motivation. But this ain’t enough : if you are not conscious of theese kind of things, you can not learn from then. So, thinking about the events you went throught is learning, and the knowlenge of yourself, the others and the world will increase throught time.

Nevertheless, we could very well be opposed to this idea, by a very simple and easy observation : if you take two teenagers of let’s say 16 years old, the will probably not seem as mature. This is due to the precedently mentionned consciousness, or not, of the causes and consequences of every action we take. If I do without thinking, I will not learn of it and so I won’t mentally grow. This is the whole point. For sure, if you live, you learn, but if you don’t learn, you don’t grow. This creates a great opposition between the body, that will never stop aging and the mind, that can always elevate to higher spheres. This is why knowlenge is universal, and doesn’t depend on your age, sex or nationality : if living is learning, and sice I assume you are still alive, you can learn of each of your actions. But world is complex, and the more you know, the more you realize how deep you can dig on each subject, and how confusing it can be. It is at this moment that most people start reding. Books, indeed are the main way to transform some seemingly pointless actions into very intereting and formative experiences. Social sciences, psychology, classical sciences, art, economy… all of them reflect a part of our reality, all of them are infinite sources of knowlenge that no one can claim as thier. This is the power of knowlenge : the is no king, no master on it, and this is why you can keep learning and growing throughtout your whole life : no one can never stop you from learning if you are alive, so just make sure you study your actions like a colorful painting, some technical mistakes, some good points, a reveal of emotions ; such things simple introspection can’t make you know. So, think about it, and take advantage of the « you live you learn » to keep growing up everyday.
