Au revoir là-haut

Résultat de recherche d'images pour "au revoir la haut pierre lemaitre film"

This film is the adaptation of the novel of Pierre Lemaître, a french writter who won the "Prix Goncourt" with the book "Au revoir là-haut". In this film, directed by Marc Dupontel (who play the main character too) and the scenario is realised by Marc Dupontel and Pierre Lemaître himself, we see the amazing story of two french soldiers after the war, who are trying to go from rags to riches.

I know it's unusual, but I will start with the ending, which is the imperfection of the film. Indeed, the final scene, after many sudden developments, shows a flimsy "happy-ending": the three protagonists are making a hug and looks very happy, even if one has seen a suicide and the other lost his best friend.

But this is the only minor flaw of the film. The film strenghs lie in two things: the plot and the actors. First, we clearly see the difference between the plot's writer and the "Hollywood" plot. There is always one detail of the narration which serves to surprise the spectator. Every element of the story is use to catch the attention. The plot is splendid. The actors are touching because they feel natural. They are not trying to make us cry, they are human, it never sinks into sentiment. They seem taken by the plot, and we are living the story with them. Both are bringing simply pure emotional power. We can say it's a masterpiece because there is nothing to throw.

Trigger Mortis by Anthony Horowitz

I would recommend the book to the people who love the books of action especially the stories of spies and also since from the beggining the story captivates the reader. The story is breathtaking, captivating. If you love the adventures of James Bond this book is for you. There is an investigation which you can try to solve before the end of the book and before the suspect is unmasked.

MY BOOK REVIEW

A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.

We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from New York Times bestselling author, National Book Award finalist, and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart.

Read it.

And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE

After the sea rose

I recomand this book because I really liked the story, there is a mix between adventure and danger, between love and war and this is what people like in books. Moreover, this book is pretty simple to read and understanding, so if you want learn english, reading books is a good way and I recomand particularly this one. But if you are a sensitive soul don't read this book because there is «Inside Out men», this is the name with which the characters call the cannibals,
and there is also shocking scene.

I recommend this novel because it's very interesting.

The main character is Harriet Manners. She is a geek, she has a best friend, Nat, for 10 years. Harriet is selfish and sparkly person. She is a geek and she is treated by all the students of his college "geek" There is a catchy image that makes you want to read it. A positive novel with adolecent problems. One can easily identify with and attach oneself to it.
 The fault in our stars

“Okay? Okay.” Do these words sound familiar? These words come from the tragic love story, The Fault In Our Stars. Hazel is a 16 year-old young lady that was diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer. When a very handsome man named Augustus Waters suddenly joins her cancer support group, Hazel feels her life completely coming together again. This bold and heart-warming book by John Green will take you through the struggles and worries of being a cancer patient.

Hazel Grace Lancaster was first diagnosed with cancer when she was just 12 years old. In order to make sure she’s doing okay, she has to visit the hospital frequently. She then attends a cancer support group, where she meets a young man named Augustus Waters. Augustus Waters is 17 years old and had osteosarcoma a year and a half ago from the books setting. Being with Augustus helps Hazel reexamine how sickness and health, life and death will define her. Although, Augustus is not diagnosed with osteosarcoma anymore he still isn’t living life the best he could. He says, “I’m a rollercoaster that only goes up, my friend.” Hazel, herself also shows many signs of depression, anxiety, and stubbornness. She says, “If you want me to be a teenager, don’t send me to a support group. Buy me a fake ID so I can go to clubs, drink vodka, and take pot.” To sum it all up, Hazel and Augustus being together makes them forget about all their pains and worries.

After the sea rose

I would recommend this book for everyone who like adventures, disasters stories. There is some rebounds, and it's a  book that does not fall to us. For people who don't like to much long and boring books, it is perfect because it has only 68 pages. Nevertheless, 'After the sea rose' is rich in vocabulary and interesting. I wouldn't recommend it to people who aren't good in English, but at those who are pretty good or to person who would like to progress. Personally I really enjoy the the first 50 pages and I look forward to finish it.

The Hunger Games

Written by Suzanne Collins

I recommend this book because I love it. I first knew the adaptation of the book. And I prefer the adaptation to the book even if it is very good. I like this book because it depicts very well the challenges that Katniss faces during the story. In the first fifty pages we discover what has become of the village of Katniss and we can very well understand what she feels and what she sees. There is no negative aspect to this book apart from the fact that I do not recognize enough characters from the film but it is not the fault of the novel but rather the film. If you are a science fiction fan, this book is made for you.

News from Nowhere by William Norris

I recommend the book. Hard to read but a very interesting story which points out the weaknesses of nowadays capitalist society. The protagonists are very attractive. We want to know everything about this future. The novel is full of good humour, simplicity and we just want to dream that we're thriving in this world  instead of the narrator.

Divergent

By VERONICA ROTH

Yes, I recommend this novel because it is very very interesting. This book was adapted for the movies so the adaptation looks a lot like the novel. They are the same people who play the same actions. The narrator is Beatrice (it is a first person narrative) so we read the book with the eyes of the main character. There is a lot of description at the body level. We feel what Beatrice lives. I also recommend this book to people who love science fiction, because there are many things that come from the future such as the fact that the perimeter to be respected are walls and the fact that the population is divided into 5 different groups. The book does not revolve around Beatrice. The author also tells us the story of his family. Personally, I liked this book. It is well written and the reading conquered me. The only problem for me is that there is too much description. Sometimes there are paragraphs that describe. There is not too much plot .

The great Gatsby by Francis Scott Fitzgerald

I really recommend this book !
Gatsby’s character is intriguing. We want to know more about him by reading the rest of this book.
Moreover, we quickly become attached to the narrator Nick Carraway. We want to know the adventures which he’s going to live and share them with him.
By the way, the story is pleasant. It’s about freedom, love, jazz …
Finally, The great Gatsby by Francis Scott Fitzgerald is a classic of American literature. In my opinion, it’s a reference and it’s important to read it.

The Girl on the train by Paula Hawkins

I would definitely recommend this book, I really liked reading it : the characters are wonderful and have a huge back story. The fact that we see the story from Rachel's point of view makes this thriller even more intriguing and breathtaking.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

I recommend this book because I loved the first pages, it's exactly my type of book, I love books that are realistic and that try to somehow explain certain things and that we are constantly questioning. The story of Oskar is very touching, moreover this character is very very endearing, what I liked is also the humor he makes proof of, and also the depth of some of his sentences, there are many things to learn from this book.

Harry Potter ant the cursed child

I advise strongly the reading of this book, it is brilliant, because we stay in this universe of magic of which we are used to seeing with J.K.Rolling. The only regret which I was able to have is the fact that it is not really a continuation but rather a new independent story.

War Horse by Michael Morpurgo

War Horse is a book about World War I, it's very interesting if you are a horse lover, because if you don't, the story will be quite boring.
It's a love story, a friend story, a war story in memory of World War I, all at the same time. Enjoy your reading !

Book of the month: September 2014

An exceptional book where the author manages to extract two plots out of the unique struggle of cancer fighters.
John Green mixes perfectly humor and the seriousness of the illness to make us appreciate his work.
This story is easy to read and suits absolutely well teenagers who want to improve their English vocabulary."
